How to Play AnimeToAnime
AnimeToAnime is simple to learn and hard to master. You chain anime together through shared Japanese voice actors. Here is everything you need to get started.
The Core Rules
- You start on a given anime and must reach or extend to another.
- Pick a Japanese voice actor from your current anime's cast.
- Any other anime that voice actor has appeared in is a valid next move.
- Only the original Japanese cast counts — English dub actors do not connect anime.
- Each anime can appear only once in a chain.
Game Modes
- Endless Mode — a solo race against the clock; chain as many anime as you can.
- Casual 1v1 — a relaxed real-time match against another player.
- Ranked Matchmaking — competitive ELO-rated 1v1 play.
Powerups
In multiplayer matches you can use powerups to reduce your opponent's time, extend your own, reveal hidden cast information, block a move, or skip a turn. Timing them well is a big part of winning close games.
Voice-Actor Exhaustion
In competitive play, every voice actor can only be used a limited number of times, and that count is shared between both players. Once an actor is exhausted, neither player can use them again — so don't waste your best voice actors early.
