Anime Connections

Inspired by the popular grid-grouping format, Anime Connections gives you sixteen anime and challenges you to sort them into four hidden groups of four. The catch is that the connecting theme isn't revealed — you have to figure out what ties each group together.

Tips

• Start with the group you're most confident about, but don't submit until you have a full four.
• Beware of overlaps: designers love including anime that could plausibly belong to two groups.
• If you're stuck, look for the least obvious link — studios, release years, shared authors, or recurring voice actors.
