Meet the Most Prolific Anime Voice Actors
In AnimeToAnime, knowledge is power — and no knowledge is more powerful than knowing your prolific seiyuu. These are the voice actors who appear across hundreds of series, turning almost any anime into a launch pad. Below are some of the most recognisable names in the industry, along with a few of their signature roles. Learn these voices and you will spot connections everywhere.
Mamoru Miyano
One of the most instantly recognisable male voices in modern anime, Mamoru Miyano is known for charismatic, larger-than-life characters. His breakout role was Light Yagami in Death Note, and he later voiced the manic scientist Rintarou Okabe in Steins;Gate and the theatrical Tamaki Suoh in Ouran High School Host Club. He is also a successful recording artist. Because his roles span thrillers, sci-fi, and comedy, he is a fantastic bridge between genres.
Hiroshi Kamiya
Hiroshi Kamiya has one of the most versatile résumés in the business. He voices the deadpan Levi Ackerman in Attack on Titan, the sardonic Koyomi Araragi in the Monogatari series, the god Yato in Noragami, and Izaya Orihara in Durarara!!. His range from calm menace to comic energy means he turns up in an enormous variety of shows.
Yuki Kaji
If a shonen protagonist is shouting with everything he has, there is a good chance Yuki Kaji is behind it. He voices Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan, Shoto Todoroki in My Hero Academia, and Meliodas in The Seven Deadly Sins. As one of the most in-demand actors of the 2010s and beyond, his credits are a reliable web of connections across every major action series.
Rie Kugimiya
Affectionately nicknamed the "queen of tsundere," Rie Kugimiya defined a whole archetype of sharp-tongued heroines: Taiga Aisaka in Toradora!, Shana in Shakugan no Shana, and Louise in The Familiar of Zero. She also voices Alphonse Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist and Happy in Fairy Tail, proving her range extends far beyond the tsundere label.
Kana Hanazawa
Kana Hanazawa is one of the most beloved female voice actors of her generation, with a gentle, expressive tone that suits everything from ethereal to eccentric. Her roles include Kanade Tachibana in Angel Beats!, Nadeko Sengoku in the Monogatari series, and Mai Sakurajima in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. She is also an accomplished solo musician.
Megumi Hayashibara
A true legend who helped shape the industry, Megumi Hayashibara voiced era-defining characters through the 1990s and beyond: Rei Ayanami in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Faye Valentine in Cowboy Bebop, and Lina Inverse in Slayers. For anyone chaining older or classic anime, she is an essential name to know.
How to use this in the game
- Memorise a core roster. Even ten well-known seiyuu will unlock an enormous portion of the anime map.
- Match the era. Chaining a 90s classic? Reach for veterans like Hayashibara. Chaining a recent shonen? Kaji and Miyano are everywhere.
- Watch for range. Actors who cross genres (Kamiya, Kugimiya) make the best bridges between shows that feel unrelated.
You do not need to memorise thousands of credits. A dozen prolific voices will carry you further than you would ever expect.
Now put the roster to work in Endless Mode, or read our strategy guide for more ways to extend your chains.
